THE ROLE

As Team Lead Corporate Communications at Damen Naval you will report directly to the director Strategy and Innovation of Damen Naval. You will be the driving force behind our corporate communications team, crafting and executing internal and strategic external communication plans. Your focus will be on major strategic markets, projects, and Damen Naval related activities, nationally and internationally. As Team Lead Corporate Communications, you will engage with key stakeholders, including customers, employees, and the media, ensuring seamless day-to-day coordination and execution of external and corporate communication activities. You will closely cooperate with the Team Lead Public Affairs and the Manager Marketing & Events.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

As Team Lead Corporate Communications your key responsibilities include:

• Actively participating in, managing, and mentoring the corporate communications team, setting goals, and monitoring performance.
• Formulating and executing a strategic communication plan aligned with organizational objectives and market trends and subsequent communication plans related to markets, projects, and Damen Naval related activities.
• Monitoring and improving strategic communication, brand identity regarding corporate messages and reputation, ensuring a consistent approach to external and internal communication.
• Proposing, releasing, and evaluating corporate communications across various platforms for events such as trade shows, conferences, seminars, and corporate gatherings.
• Preparing and releasing internal communication, including disseminating company news, policy changes, and other pertinent information.
• Fostering and maintaining robust relationships with relevant media outlets and press representatives.
• Establishing and overseeing in close cooperation with the director the crisis communication plan, serving as the point of contact for the media and the public during emergencies or incidents.
• Overseeing social media platforms to increase online presence and ensure relevant and engaging content.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

To excel as Team Lead Corporate Communications, you should possess the following qualifications and qualities:

• Bachelor or Master degree in communications, journalism, or another relevant study combined with a minimum of seven years of relevant experience.
• Experience with verbal and written corporate communication, state authorities, marketing, sales, and/or communications, preferably gained in a large international company in complex environments.
• Excellent command of the Dutch and English language, both written and verbal.
• Excellent references antecedents as a pre-employment security screening is standard part of the recruitment procedure.
• Permanent EU citizenship and passport are both required and candidates with NL/EU (work) visa or with both an EU and non-EU nationality and/or passport are not eligible in accordance with the requirements imposed by the military nature of our projects.
