THE ROLE

As Proposal Engineer Electrical and Automation (E&A) at Damen Naval, you will be pivotal in developing naval architecture design solutions into precise requirements during precontract activities. Working within the technical team of a tender, you will execute (sub) design tasks under the guidance of the Tender Manager, Proposal Engineer, or Manager Naval Architecture. Your role will involve drafting reports and specifications while collaborating closely with colleagues within and outside the tender.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

As Proposal Engineer Electrical and Automation (E&A) your key responsibilities will include:

• Coordinate design and reporting activities to ensure project alignment.
• Contribute to requirements analysis, concept generation, and evaluation of design options.
• Develop general system architecture, electric load balance, and electrical and automation specifications.
• Evaluate designs against requirements and prepare comprehensive reports.
• Write and review technical documents, equipment specifications, and contract specifications, effectively communicating complex concepts and data.
• Lead discussions with customers, suppliers, and stakeholders on the technical aspects of proposed solutions.
• Facilitate communication with stakeholders to gather input and ensure alignment on technical solutions.
• Support cost evaluations provided by suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate with internal departments to optimize project outcomes.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

To excel as Proposal Engineer Electrical and Automation (E&A), you should possess the following qualifications and qualities:

• Bachelor or Master degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field combined with at least three years of relevant experience in electrical and automation, preferably gained in complex new-built naval ships.
• Expertise in a variety of design concepts and practices, including technologically advanced design and proposal processes.
• Good command of the Dutch and English language both written and verbal.
• Excellent references antecedents as a pre-employment security screening is standard part of the recruitment procedure.
• Permanent EU citizenship and passport are both required and candidates with NL/EU (work) visa or with both an EU and non-EU nationality and/or passport are not eligible in accordance with the requirements imposed by the military nature of our projects.
