The position
In this position you will be responsible to ensure safe and efficient management onshore and offshore to the satisfaction of the Owners of OOS International and affiliated Companies and in line with applicable rules and regulations. You will work in close cooperation with the HSEQ Director and his team at our head office and HSEQ team abroad.
Tasks and responsibilities
- Monitoring the vessels in daily HSE related matters in close cooperation with the Safety departments on board;
- Provide updates to the shore-based departments and vessel-management of changes in legislation, class rules and industry standards within their area of competence;
- Maintain and develop smart KPI’s
- Conduct scheduled (audit plan) and un-scheduled audits onshore as well as on board the vessels. Provide audit reports and follow up on audit action items (ISM/ISPS/MLC and applicable ISO standards.
- Make recommendations for improvements on HSEQ related matters;
- Work proactively and deliver a seamless HSEQ services, providing support where necessary to meet service quality requirements.
- Analyzing accident/incident data from assigned vessel(s) in, participate actively in improving the safety management systems;
- Develop HAZIDs and HAZOP’s
- Initiates and develops new procedures, working instructions to HSE(Q) matters, whenever necessary to improve HSE(Q) performance.
- Maintain the online Safety Management System
Job and skill requirements
- Related degree (not required if you have sufficient experience in a comparable position).
- Good communication skills in English (oral and written).
- Knowledge of ISO Standards 9001/14001 and 45001 is a pre
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in the maritime/offshore industry.
- Knowledge of marine and/or offshore operations, relevant legislation and class rules, and IT applications.
- Relevant experience in shipboard management, health and safety, environmental protection and quality related activities within the shipping and offshore industry.
- Auditor Skills (Preferable Lead Auditor degree)
- Can act as deputy Designated Person Ashore and Company Security Officer.
