THE ROLE

As the Manager of the Information Management Department at Damen Naval, you will play a pivotal role in driving secure and efficient information management within our organization. Because the naval ships we build will serve to defend geopolitical stakes, information security is our absolute priority. Yet at the same time, we require a collaborative, multidisciplinary (digital) work environment to allow us to build these state-of-the art vessels. Your will lead and drive initiatives to achieve the optimal equilibrium. At the same time, you will lead the Information Management Department in such way that they operate collaboratively and efficiently, both internally as well as with (external) business stakeholders.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

As the Manager Information Management ,your key responsibilities will include:

• Provide inspirational leadership by providing guidance, support, and fostering a collaborative work environment.
• Perform people management tasks related to career development, appraisals and resource allocation.
• Develop and improve the information management strategy aligned with the business goals and compliant with strict requirements and standards.
• Drive the adaptation of your information management strategy through data governance policies, procedures, and standards
• Build and maintain strong collaborative relationships with IT vendors and (external) stakeholders to align information needs and budgets.
• Support the project management team by documenting business demands, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and priorities.
• Facilitate the integration of IT systems and data across different departments, improving communication and collaboration.
• Explore emerging technologies such as automation, AI, and IoT to identify opportunities for innovation in naval shipbuilding.
• Implement and monitor performance metrics to assess the effectiveness of information management processes and drives continuous improvement initiatives.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

To excel as the Manager Information Management , you should possess the following qualifications and qualities:

• Master or Bachelor degree in IT or technical Business Administration.
• 5+ years of experience working and managing highly secured IT (infrastructure) environments, preferable the defense or maritime industry.
• Hands-on experience in developing and strengthening an IT department and in business Information Management.
• Good command of Dutch and English language both written and verbal.
• Excellent references antecedents as a pre-employment security screening is standard part of the recruitment procedure.
• Permanent EU citizenship and passport are both required and candidates with NL/EU (work) visa or with both an EU and non-EU nationality and/or passport are not eligible in accordance with the requirements imposed by the military nature of our projects.
