THE ROLE

As the Manager IT Operations at Damen Naval, you manage the workforce responsible for delivering an optimum performing IT infrastructure and IT systems. This workforce is organized in different teams: Infra & Networking, Workspace & Technical Application Management (TAM) and Solution Specialists. As our IT operations are located at project and office locations globally, you should be available for business travel and/or working abroad.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

As the Manager IT Operations, your key responsibilities will include:

• Managing the teams of Infra & Networking, Workspace & TAM, and Solution Specialist and providing mentorship, training, and professional development opportunities for team members.
• Manages the IT operations budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and alignment with organizational goals and identifying opportunities for cost savings and optimization.
• Overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of our IT infrastructure (servers, networks, and data centers).
• Ensuring the IT infrastructure meets current and future needs, considering scalability, reliability, and security.
• Ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to IT security.
• Collaborating with vendors and third-party service providers to acquire necessary hardware, software, and services.
• Collaborates with vendors and third-party service providers to acquire necessary hardware, software, and services that meet DN’s requirements.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

To excel as the Manager IT Operations, you should possess the following qualifications and qualities:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in software engineering, IT or a similar field.
• 8+ years of experience within IT Operations with at least 3 years in a managerial position.
• Extensive knowledge of IT infrastructure, systems, networks, services, and regulations.
• Good command of the English, and preferably also Dutch language (written & verbal).
• Willingness for travelling and/or working abroad.
• Excellent references antecedents as a pre-employment security screening is standard part of the recruitment procedure.
• Permanent EU citizenship and passport are both required and candidates with NL/EU (work) visa or with both an EU and non-EU nationality and/or passport are not eligible in accordance with the requirements imposed by the military nature of our projects.
