Duties & Responsibilities (but not limited to):
The Marine Superintendent will be responsible for a broad range of operational, technical, and compliance-related activities, including but not limited to:
- Overseeing the vessels’ daily operations, including hotel services, client requirements, and the inspection, repair, and maintenance of navigation and communication equipment.
- Serving as the primary point of contact between the vessel and the onshore organization.
- Supporting certification and verification processes, including liaison with classification societies and relevant authorities.
- Ensuring all inspection, repair, and maintenance procedures are properly implemented and adhered to.
- Contributing to budget planning for daily operational costs in cooperation with Line Managers and Shipboard Management, as well as supporting cost control and annual investment planning.
- Reviewing and approving Material Requisitions (MRs), Purchase Orders, and invoices.
- Coordinating with external companies and specialists regarding inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities.
- Supporting the maintenance and improvement of formal documentation, including policies, procedures, and strategic materials, in collaboration with Shipboard Management.
- Evaluating non-conformities, initiating corrective actions, and assisting with incident investigations when required.
- Assisting in identifying training needs and supporting the development of onboard training programs.
- Monitoring and interpreting applicable rules, regulations, and industry guidance related to marine and offshore operations.
- Maintaining the computerized planned maintenance system together with Shipboard Management and contributing to system improvements.
- Working closely with the HSEQ Department to ensure safe operations and compliance with occupational safety and health regulations, promoting a culture where all accidents are considered preventable.
- Traveling to vessels or project locations as required.
Education/Experience/Requirements
- Nautical Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent;
- Relevant experience in the offshore industry;
- Excellent skills in spoken and written English;
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and sound judgement.
